‘Munsiff Court building Tangmarg to be repaired soon’

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 08 (KNO) : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today held a meeting to address various issues concerning the availability of basic amenities and public services in Sopore and Tangmarg area of Baramulla district. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, Director Education Kashmir G. N. Itoo, Chief Engineer PHE, heads of various departments, bar members and public representatives. The participants raised the issue of erratic power supply, lack of proper drainage network, defunct street lights, bad condition of roads, lack of playfields, menace of drugs, lack of staff at Sopore hospital and other problems prevalent in Sopore. The Div Com sought reply from all concerned officials and directed them to address the issues within a stipulated time. He directed the DC Baramulla and SDM to monitor the situation and present a compliance report within a fortnight. He said that government is working for the welfare of the people and said that Chief Minister has also desired that improved basic amenities and public services be provided to Sopore area. He said that officers should work overtime to ensure that people feel minimal inconvenience and all services are provided at their doorsteps. Earlier, a meeting was also held to address the issues concerning the dilapidated condition of Munsiff court complex at Tangmarg. The bar representatives informed the Div Com about the water logging problem, lack of washroom for ladies and deteriorating condition of the building. The Div Com directed the SDM Gulmarg to ensure that water is provided with an outlet at the earliest after identifying its source. He also directed the officials to build six washrooms in the complex for both males and females. He said that once the water-logging problem is resolved and the land dries up, the repair of building will take place.(KNO)
